| Muggaccinos Pedlars Sunday Cyclists - The Bullsheet Sunday,
14 April, Bike North's "West to Windsor" Ride
contacts: Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday 6:40am for 6:50am rollout from Turra' Station, via Kissing Point Rd, Browns' Water Hole and M2 to join Bike North's ride [organised by Keith & Fran Griffin 9614 0777 (h) 0414 187 427] at 7:30am. Keith's ride contingent enters the M2 at on-ramp at Cnr Pennant Hills Rd and M2, so Muggs will pull-up on LHS of cycle lane on M2 just after on-ramp- shortly after passing Pennant Hills Golf Course on RHS. We then cycle to Windsor via Old Windsor Rd and back roads to/thru Quakers Hill. Brunch Nosh Stop at Windsor, thence Keith introduces us to the "Flat Out West" riders at McQuade Park, Windsor at 10am for a 20km circuit before returning to Windsor for a final Nosh Stop, following which its back to Turra' via a different route. ETR Turra' 3:30pm. NB: Trains are running between Richmond and Blacktown, so you could jump one at East Richmond [12.49pm and hourly] or Windsor [5 mins later] back to Marayong [1:18pm and hourly]. Due to trackwork after Blacktown, these times might vary. Scribe's
rap-up of Sun 7 April, "Church Point, Wakehurst
Parkway, Forest Way loop" - 77km After 42.5km, incl Terrey Hills and Akuna Bay, we pulled in at Church Point at 9:30am for our 1st 'n only Nosh. Alas, with hordes of people around, we opted to eat in the "courtyard" in eyeshot of our bikes, rather than retreat to the café overlooking the marina. Hence, it wouldn't rate as a memorable Pig-Out, although Terry did comment favourably about the coffee. Didn't seem that hazy at Church Point, perhaps something to do with the bright background.
Looking at the below Happy Snap post ride at Pattisons' Patisserie around midday, you'd think we'd all had a jolly pleasant outing. How a picture can lie! 'cause 15 mins earlier we were "exhausticatedly" bunging our bikes in our trunks following a helter skelter rip-snorter 26.2km "quadruple road leg" from Narrabeen where all bar PapaBear and Bank Teller went gangbusters over the 9.9km climb up Wakehurst, a ball-terror of a short/sharp climb up Adams St onto Forest Way for 11.1km, and a frenetic 6.2km along Mona Vale Rd.
New Chum Andy stole le maillot jaune with a +27km/h ave. One his heels were Whippet, 'n BigGears. Rocket Ros, with 25km/h, was 1st amongst the girls. A "punctured" Navigator, ToothFairy and Teller were just happy to survive the solid pace set by the head scouts, and for the record, the Red Juggernaut had taken the easy way home from Church Point.
