Whippet's fleeting rap-up of Bike North's "Northern Beaches & Back Roads" with Manly Ferry to Circular Quay, thence Harbour Bridge to Nth Sydney, Naremburn, Lane Cove Park, M2, Browns Water Hole & climb back to Turramurra After a pre-ride briefing, Graeme Edwards, led a large band of regular Bike Northers out from Turra' station on schedule at 7:45am with the initial re-group at McCarrs Creek Rd Terrey Hills where the below pic was snapped.
The 30 min run down McCarrs Creek Rd to Church Point evidenced Temperate Tony limp in with a flat. Whippet was chuffed at 30.9km ave, albeit a deficit of big hills. The coastal route, led us thru Mona Vale and via Mona Vale Hospital along the beach road. Shortly thereafter, Bazza, Temperate and Bank Teller bade the group au revoir and took an early Nosh Stop at Nautilus Café overlooking Warriewood Beach. Teller reported that perhaps a reaction to a dearth of female crew typically succumbing to calorie laced tarts, the three lads chomped into cakes 'n coffee. Prior to returning via Mona Vale Rd they met Pacific Pete who was catching some clicks with a few of his starters for his Victoria ride next April. The main group continued on past Dee Why, Curl Curl beaches, bays, lagoons & headlands, with lots of ups 'n downs before we refueled at Manly, where the surf carnival was in full swing, but it was time to catch a ferry. We remounted and cycled over the cycle path on the "The Bridge" to North Sydney, Naremburn taking the cycleway to Artarmon, Lane Cove River Park to the M2, Browns Water Hole before a tough climb up to Turra’.
