Bank Teller’s rap-up of Sunday, 5 August, Warriewood for Brunch – 89km

On what has to have been the hottest early Aug day ever, mid-20s, a reduced contingent of six settled in for Brunch at Sunrise Café Warriewood at 12:10pm after 68km [Widget, Pacific, Trevor, Whippet, The Scribe and Temperate].  Alas, Bazza, Helga/Dieter, Gareth and Vernon, who accompanied us to West Head, had chores to do.

Unsure whether it was the solid pace (Trev’s computer 26.9km ave), or the week off last Sunday when the weather was the antithesis of today, but most of us were whacked and opted for the short-cut (19km) back to St Ives via Powder Works Rd, where we arrived around 1:20pm for more Coffee ‘n Cakes at Pattisons Patisserie, where Ian, Sig, Eric and others already had the Nose Bag on.
