Welcome to the River Torrens to Darlington Project - DIT - 16 Dec 2022

Can you imagine driving from Tonsley in the south to Torrensville in the north without one single traffic light? This is what the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project will deliver.

Set to unlock Adelaide’s traffic network, the T2D Project is the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor (NSC).

Using a combination of tunnels, lowered and surface-level motorway, as well as overpasses and underpasses at key intersections, the T2D Project will complete the NSC—creating 78km of non-stop, traffic light-free motorway between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.

By moving thousands of vehicles into underground tunnels and bypassing 21 sets of traffic lights, the T2D Project will connect communities across Greater Adelaide.

It will ensure people, produce and products arrive where they need to be, sooner and safer, helping to lower costs for businesses and improve services for customers by providing:

·         reduced travel times to key destinations including the CBD and major gateways such as Port Adelaide and Adelaide Airport

·         a crucial route for heavy vehicles and commercial freight trips

·         a continuous road link connecting Gawler in the north, and Old Noarlunga in the south.
