Camp at Berry Showground between Saturday 8^th and Sunday 16 Nov ‘14

Muggaccinos.com invites you to camp at scenic Berry Showground @ $9 per tent p/n (with no booking req’d) or book a room in a motel and cycle over some/all of the 9 days the bestest cluster of tough climbs in NSW - nestled around pristine Kangaroo Valley and verdant Kiama. Or cruise the flatlands along the marvellous Illawarra coastline.

Utilising Berry Showground as a home base enables cyclists to catch the quaint local train service to Bombaderry, Kiama and Albion Park Rail on 3 of the 9 days to climb 6 of the below 12 KOM Climbs in the Illawarra Climb Region.

3. Tourist Rd up Bellawongara Mountain to Cambewarra Mtn Lookout Cafe
4. Cambewarra Mountain from Bomaderry
5. Cambewarra Mountain from Kangaroo Valley
6. Berry Mountain from Berry
7. Berry Mountain from Kangaroo Valley
8. Jamberoo Pass
9. Macquarie Pass
10. Saddleback Mountain Rd
11. Fountaindale Rd up Saddleback Mountain
12. Barrengarry Mountain to Fitzroy Falls

Rides commence from Berry on the other 4 days to climb remaining 5 KOM Climbs.

If you have concrete quads you might scale the above Climbs on a double 52/39 chain ring, so long as you have a 28 on your rear cassette. However, a triple chain-ring or compact 50/34 front crank is recommended.

Flatter day rides on quiet roads SW of Berry are available for rookies and wosses.

No bookings at Berry Showground req’d and only $9 per night per tent camping fee - 20m council swimming pool is 100m from Berry Showground campsite.

Berry is a showpiece of the Southern Highlands with lots of things to do, people to see, places to go and pubs to visit, when not cycling its marvellous mountains.

Not every cycle enthusiast can get days off work in early Nov, so approx. 30% of attendees will drive down early Saturday morning to Kiama station for final two days of climbing – 5 climbs. It is 2 hours’ drive from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Kiama early on Saturday morning.
