Camping Municipal des Grands Cols Camp Ground is the camp ground at Saint Jean de Maurienne, Savoie where four Muggs stayed in Sept 2012.

It is our 2nd Base Camp in 2013.  We stay in chalets (cabins) for 8 nights from Sat 14th Sept to Sat 21st Sept inclusive.

Tariffs 2013 provides prices and chalet styles (in French) which 1. and 2 below are mobile homes (caravans with driving capability) but you don't drive them anywhere merely sleep and cook in them. 

Below is a summary of available chalets/cabin in English:

1.        Mobile Home Super Mercure, 28m2 plus covered terrace, for 5 persons max, Sat to Sat 300 Euro, per night for a min of 3 nights is 50 Euro = $65 AUD per head for 3 nights and probably $55 AUD per head p/n for 8 nights

2.        Mobile Home Super Astria,    16m2 plus  terrace, for 2 persons max, Sat to Sat 230 Euro, per night per night for a min of 3 nights is 45 Euro = $59 AUD per head for 3 nights and probably $49 AUD per head p/n for 8 nights

3.        Two small cabins shown in final three below pics @ 18 Euro per night for one and 25 Euro per night with two bunks in each = $28 AUD per chalet / 2 = $14 AUD per head per night
