In August 2002, Nathan Treganna, 25, rode his motorcycle to the Lane Cove National Park to buy jewellery from the two associates.

However when he arrived, John William Crawt, 26, and Leith Ward Marchant, 27, shot him in the head at point blank range before robbing him of the money he had planned to use to buy the jewellery.

Crawt received 35 years in jail while his co-offender, Marchant, has been jailed for 38 years.
