Australians' credit card debt keeps climbing

Australians owed nearly $49 billion on their credit cards in November, according to the latest data from the Reserve Bank of Australia.

The latest data from the Reserve Bank showed that Australia's credit card debt to be $48.6 billion, the highest on record.

Other highlights from the Reserve Bank's data include:

• Australians have 14.8 million credit cards -- a record.
• Those credit cards have a total credit limit of $133 billion -- also a record.

The Reserve Bank releases data on credit cards, credit card debt, credit limits and more on a monthly basis.
