BUS JOURNEY CUZCO TO PUNO (L)

The regular bus service operated by WONDER PERU departs to Puno at approximately 07.15 AM. On the way the bus passes by the districts of San Sebastian San Jeronimo Tipon, Oropesa and Piquillacta. Continue to Andahuaylillas for 40 minutes to visit the local church which is very nice.  The trip continues to pass close to the Lagoon of Urcos, the small towns of Quiqujana, Cusipata, Tinta and San Pedro until reaching the Temple of Wiracocha for a 50 minute stop.

FULL DAY TAQUILE AND UROS ISLAND TOUR (SPEED BOAT) (L)

One and a half hours by speed boat from Puno, this remote island is a remarkable community where Quechua, the language of the Incas, is kept alive by the islanders. The outstanding highlight of its inhabitants is their handicrafts derived from techniques developed over centuries. Visit the house of a local family to engage in some activities with them such as weaving.

Afterwards enjoy lunch made from fresh local products.

A shorter stop is also made at Uros Island, the unique floating reed islands - built on layers of totora reeds -home to the Uros Indians, who still live as their ancestors did a thousand years ago.

CITY AND MOON VALLEY TOUR: HALF DAY

Today you will be collected from your hotel and taken to visit the famous Witch Doctor's Market, San Francisco Colonial Church and the typical handicrafts of the Sagarnaga Street Market. The tour continues to Plaza Murillo where the Cathedral, the Government Plaza and the national Congress buildings are located. Then, visit the famous colonial street "Calle Jaen" where the interesting museums are clustered together, followed by a visit to the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of the Tiwanaku Culture. To change scenery, the tour continues to the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida. The tour concludes with a visit to the unique Moon Valley where you will have the opportunity to walk around, and visit a ceramic workshop with a demonstration of the art of pottery.
