Ø    Access 84.2 km at "Ride Calendar 2007 - Apr to June" for Ride Description of Start from Porter's Lookout Dural

Ø   No trackwork on Western Train Line to Windsor

Ø   Ride Organiser: Phil Johnston  9114.6689  0412 045 224

Ø   Hardcopy these directions and bring on Sunday

Ø   Take care at the 'on' and 'off' ramps on M2 - cars coming from behind often travel faster than they seem to be

Ø   Expend 5 min studying your street directory for the 36km clockwise loop from Windsor, Freeman's Reach, Richmond Lowlands, Cornwallis, returning to Windsor

Ø   Don't ride two abreast on single lane roads with an unbroken centre line

Ø   Cycling without Public Liability cover is as silly as driving without 3rd Party -
join Bicycle NSW or Bike Vic for PL insurance, or upgrade your household policy to include PL beyond your front fence, so that all Muggs are better protected, 'cause if you cause a serious accident it could cost you upwards of $1m in PL claims by the injured party

Ø   When passing a fellow Mugg, always provide a metre clearance.  If you can't, or are
passing on the inside, you MUST call out loudly eg. "passing inside tight" etc

Samurai 'n Pimpernel's rap-up of Cinque Montagnes  -  95km  -  14 cyclists

After a month of shity weather, a fine Sunday evidenced the gang comin' out of the woodwork with 14 starters from various points. TugBoat, Samurai, Pimpernel Tornado, Kaza, BeanCounter and NewChum Matthew aka ChristieTandem started from North Turra' on a freezen' morning.

Our descent of Bobbo approaching mid-Winter turned on the usual "arctic conditions" and the speedsters encountered a kilometre of hard packed unsealed clay approaching the bottom with road works in progress to reseal the road.  No long gloves or legens required for our intrepid photographer for the descent to Bobbin Head.

Todd aka IT Nerd met us as we were descending Bobbo.  By the time we reached Kalkari Reserve, the first layers of clothing had been shed.  We then enjoyed a good run to Andy’s Cafe Nth Galston where we were joined by Pete, Ann, Martin aka Architect, back after months of Uni and "Pay the Bills" work, and Hugh aka Wellington.

On a chilly morn' none of us were keen the dally long at Andy's, whereupon it was due north to the Berowra Waters Punt, where en route Adam met up with us for the enjoyable ascent to the Pool Shop Sag StopAdam's rib, Ann Marie, joined us at the top, still ginger after a fall a couple of months ago.  Grant bad us adieu, with the rest of us hooking a left onto the Old Pacific H'way bound for the Brooklyn Rd turnaround.

Pacific Pete seemed to have the throttle to the floor on the ascent to PitS, as did BeanCounter 'n Hugh 40 mins earlier whilst coming up from the ferry. Matthew even on his hybrid, with a bike rack and pannier, was extremely strong, easily keeping up with the group and expressed interest to bring out his tandem shortly.

Our arrival at PitS evidenced strengthening sunshine.  Alas it was short lived with arctic conditions soon returning. This curtailed our Nosh Stop as riders were keen to be on the move.  The Hornsby, Berowra & Asquith riders disappeared back to their respective starts, while the Nth Turra' contingent, after a fleeting Sag Stop at the toll booth at the top of Bobbo, stopped at the Nth Turra Café, after 94 clicks for another coffee to warm up in the sunshine which had come out just as we ascended Bobbo!!!.  Murphy's Law !!! As there we met up with Liz, Siggy & PapaBear

After wrapping up another great day's cycling, Rex cycled around North Turra' to warm up in the afternoon sunshine and to get up those 100 clicks!!! while Matthew, Trevor, Tony and Karen retired to their cars for a well earned rest.

Rollout from Nth Turra' carpark Matthew, Tornado, Kaza, BeanCounter, Pimpernel 'n TugBoat

Thankful for the mid-Winter sunlight at Andy's Cafe Nth Galston after 37km

Martin aka Architect 'n Hugh aka Wellington at Andy's where Martin is showing off his new toy, a Scott C1

Waiting for the Berowra Waters ferry after 47km

Not the most endeering snap of Martin or Ann-Marie at PitS

Adam seems to be snoozing as Rex enunciates his thoughts, or perhaps they are both 'in prayer or comatose

Post ride, a few of us adjourned to the Corner Cafe for a feed ' fix
