Scribe's rap-up of 1st Tour de Robertson with lots of pics from Pelvis Pete - wet early but wonderful!!! - 15 cyclists over 3 days - also reproduced below.

Rap-up 'n pics of Inaugural Tour de Robertson - Fri 27 to Sunday 29 April '07  -  lots of pics from Pelvis Pete

Enjoying a Pale Ale after Todd and Scribe scaled the 18.8km Jamberoo Pass                      Phil had a few visitors to his tent after dark

Gut-Buster pic of Printer 'n Pelvis about to rollout on Friday.

Same pic above 'n below, but different lens.  Snapped during our 30km reduced ride to Burrawang on Sat arvo in "God's own cycling country".

Printer 'n Samurai admiring the size of that giant Spud, with
Pelvis Pete similarly bemused below.

Three hefty meals about to be demolished by Todd, starting with this rear beast, at the Robertson Inn on our first nite.  After climbing Jamberoo Pass with Scribe, he likely felt a need for a protein fix.  But eating 3 meals with eggs etc did seem a tad voracious.  Imbibing the entire bot of Plonk, which he wouldn't let go of, didn't endear I.T.Nerd as an overly neighbourly chap either.
But still with the exception of Bank Teller, all the others had piked-out on scaling the precipitous 18.93km Jamberoo Pass, so he probably figured he had earned three square meals.

Rainbow in the morning - Shepherd's warning!  Rainbow at night - Sailors' delight!
Pete aka Pelvis snapped the above rainbow
from our campsite approaching dusk
on Sat arvo which heralded a fine cycling Sunday.

Supper at Pizza's in the Mist on Sat nite - The Kaiser, Scribe, Helen and Bazza

3 pics of morning tea at Bowral on Sunday morn' after 24½km
from campsite along verdant and lumpy Kangaloon Rd.
We met a few local cyclists from
Southern  Highlands C.C.,
incl Geoff and Roy 48612836.  Tragically, one of their
cyclists was killed whilst cycling at 5:30pm the previous
Friday nite - a further reminder that road cycling is dangerous.

Report on Cyclists Deaths - July 2006 is a Federal Govt publication based on empirical evidence, which establishes that
since 2000 between
26 and 46 cyclists have been killed on
Australian roads each year.

So ya got to remain vigilant when on ya treadley, particularly
on unchartered downhills.

On a brighter note, hopefully, we may be able to entice a few
Southern  Highlands C.C. cyclists to participate in our 4 days of cycling their verdant hills at our 2nd Tour de Robertson mentioned below or this November
4th King of the Mountain Challenge camping for up to 7 days at Berry Showground.

Pig 'n Whistle Cafe in the Old Cheese Factory, Hoddle St Robertson - 4885.1300ph

Proprietor, Elio, who resembles Manuel of Faulty Tower's, has undertaken to remain opened one nite for din dins at the 2nd Tour de Robertson which is a day longer from Friday 14 March 2008 to Monday 17 March inclusive - 1 week before Easter in 2008
If the weather is a shocker, Ken Sharpe of Robertson Showground Trust is comfortable for us to postpone 'til the week after Easter.
So it will be one nite at Pizza's in the Mist, a nite at the Robertson Inn, one nite at Pig & Whistle Cafe, where Manuel has undertaken to dust off the nite time "important persons" menu, 'cause Elio assured Rex and Phil that he only keeps the Pig & Whistle Cafe open after five bells for very important persons.

If you click on "W'ends away in 2007", and then click on 4th Linger 'n Die from Berowra, Wollombi, Paterson, Morisset, you will glean that our next very long w'end is from Sat 22 Sept to Tues 25 Sept to the upper Hunter, with options to reduce to a 3 or even 2 day participation.
