    *    to add variety to other St Ives rides which 'do the park thing first-up'.

Rollout St Ives 8:30am with Fruit Barn 1st Sag Stop (5 min). 

Forest Way and Wakehurst Parkway to Narrabeen Lakes, and coastal entry to Warriewood for (1st Nosh Stop) from 9:30am after 27km.

NW on our known route (albeit backwards) crossing Mona Vale Rd to McCarrs Creek Rd, left past Church Point, for 1st KOM Climb 4.5km up McCarrs Creek Rd to painted 'Echidna' sign at "V" entrance to park for 2nd Sag Stop (5 min).

Thence NE taking Left Hand entrance into park along Gen. San Martin Drive passing Cottage Point Rd on LHS, Illawong Bay with (2nd Nosh Stop) from 11:20am

Return East with 2nd KOM Climb 3.5km from Akuna Bay Marina to large West Head metal sign approx 80m before West Head Rd.  Then Right descending to McCarrs Creek bridge and climb to Thai Restaurant, and return along Myoora Rd and Mona Vale Rd. - ETR St Ives 12:50pm.

1.   Mona Vale Fruit Barn from 8:45am (3 min)
2.  
'Echidna' sigh at entrance to park from 10:55am (5 min)

 

1st Leg: St Ives to Warriewood cafés - 27km - 60 min cycling

Depart St Ives car-park by 8:30am

  • E   along Mona Vale Rd for 6.2km;

  • L   [opposite Forest Way - at Mona Vale Fruit Barn] into Myoora Rd and take a fleeting Sag Stop (min) from 8:45am;

  • R   Sth thru traffic lights down Forest Way for 5.4km;

  • L   into French's Forest Rd/Naree Rd for 1km;

  • L   into Wakehurst Parkway for 9.9km;

  • R   into Pittwater Rd for 300m;

  • L   at lights into Waterloo Rd for 100m;

  • L   into Lagoon St for 1km

  • R   into Malcolm for 100m;

  • L   Ocean St/Narrabeen Park Pde for 2.6km to Warriewood cafés arriving 9:35am after 27km - neighbourhood, street front shops immediately on LHS in Narrabeen Park Pde. 
    Sunrise
     Milk Bar, on the cnr, makes grouse burgers.
     Nautilus Café is more upmkt.

Bank Teller's rap-up of Tour the Kurrajong - 101km - 14 starters on a moist 'morn which eventually dried up a tad

Three pics from Zellie's Cafe - 223 Windsor St  4578.6906, where our crew enjoyed a respite barely 100m NW from Richmond station, after we'd alighted our Iron Horse from Marayong, 'cause when these 3 pics were snapped, 'twas pissing down outside.   Fortunately, the tucker 'n table service at Zellie's Cafe were 'spot-on', especially that provided by a local lass, 'Bel', who features in above 2 pics.
