Bank Teller's rap-up of Thurs, New Year's day Tour de Stanwell Park and Garie Beach

Twas a wonderful ride on a pristine morn' where in the wooded overhang, the locusts chant was occasionally deafening.  5 solitary souls - Greg, Koala Bear, Whippet, Navigator 'n Bank Teller - enjoyed an 80km Southside saunter when many Muggs were, no doubt, recovering from sore noggins.

Our ride incorporated 4 KOM climbs and an easy one out of Flat Rock.
Below is Navigator's summation:

KOM climb Overall Steepest section
Total total average     average
height (m) length (km) gradient height (m) length (km) gradient
Stanwell Park to Otford 182 2.3 7.90% 143 1.5 9.50%

McKell Ave to Garie Rd 172 4.1 4.20% 145 2.6 5.60%

Garie Beach climb 204 2.7 7.60% 192 2.5 7.70%

Flat Rock creek 88 2 4.40%

Audley weir to top 111 1.5 7.40%

Greg from Mortdale, Navigator, Whippet 'n Koala Bear in front of an RTA barrier at Coalcliff which Steve McQueen circa The Great Escape would 've struggled to breach, although the sleeping old gopher on point duty, whom Whippet struggled to wake, wouldn't have been an impediment.
