Scribe’s rap-up of Breakfast at Brooklyn - 83km - 11 cyclists
Did Navigator win the lottery?  Or did he blow the domestic budget in pursuit of that extra few seconds, splurging out on an expensive new Trek, with all the bells 'n whistles imaginable?  Cause Terry was decked to the nines today, with a smickers new treadley, shoes, clobber - the lot!

Notwithstanding the 8:30am rollout, we still layered ourselves - "layer-upon-layer", climbing into anything and everything, at Turra' in anticipation of that dreaded Winter decent to Bobbin Head.

Scribe's Scientific Fact:
Question:  Why is that with warm clothing too boot to guard against the dreaded wind-chill during the Bobbin Head descent at 50 km/h, a cyclist's exposed face doesn't complain?  Yet the chill on the tiny gap between a glove and sleeve can be a source of irritation all the way to the bridge.
Answer:  Because a cyclist's face is made of the same stuff as a duck's bum.  A duck has all that feathery down to cover it above the water, and is still able to float around in frigid water without freezing its arse's off.  If you don't believe Professor Teller, try sub-merging your face into a frosty duck pond.

In any event the above pic [snapped by Princess Caroline] from Kalkari after 13.3km today at 9:05am is testimony that we survived another Winter B.H. descent.

L to R at Red Herring Brooklyn Pier after 41km around 10:40am- ToothFairy, BigGears, Richard, Whippet, Caroline, Andy, Teller, LabRat, Navigator, Rocket Ros, Dickey Knee, and Publican

The two Oak iced-coffees at this end are testimony to what those two little brown bunnies (this end) think of the Red Herring's coffee.  But fortunately Segafredo-Zanetti's awaited us a mere 7.8km back up the mound.  Guess What?  Teller was KOM on the premier, much sought after, climb to PitS.  Although Dickey Knee took it right to the wire, not to mention Dickey et al conceding a 3 min start to ever-zealous Scribe who had surreptitiously sneaked a slight start At around 11:30am Teller announced, at our sunny courtyard table at PitS, that the pending "HEADLINE" in the week's Bullsheet would feature Scribe's triumph.  Whereupon the assembled gathering almost puked.

Around 11:40am we began the 34km final leg to Turra' arriving at 1:15pm.  Dicky Knee and BigGears shared the coveted Yellow Jersey, with Whippet and the new look Navigator on the 2nd line of betting after yesterday's form.
