Detailed:

Our 1st Nosh Stop (25 mins) is after 36kms at Mt White Village Store from 9:30am.

Cycling north from the Bikie Hangout before 10am, we take a 2nd Nosh Stop (15 mins) at Midcoast Petroleum, Peats Ridge from 11am after a steady, continuous, gradual climb.

After re-mounting at 11:15am, around 11:55pm we descend Bumble Hill for our 3rd Nosh Stop (55 mins - lunch) from midday at delightful, serene, stately Yarramalong Manor.

Before 1pm we commence a 20km flat/fast hit-out into Wyong, arriving by 1:50pm to catch the 1:55pm all-stops ($6.40 fare) back to Hornsby arriving at 3:06pm.

Alternatively, if the weather is balmy, and consensus favours a relaxed day, we may spin things out, and catch the 2:45pm with an ETR of 3:56pm.

Whippet's rap-up of Sunday 16 Sept, Quatre Montagnes
(anti- clockwise) - 85km

While Bank Teller has been practicing his hill climbing in the Pyranees we have been blessed with lots of sunshine.  Last Sunday’s ride was no exception; a balmy, hot spring day where the temperature rose to 26o  Eight riders rolled out of Turra’, plus two from Hornsby. Suicide Blonde Brunette was switching to the road, although she is changing in many ways (more later), leaving the MtB in garage, Marea was out to show the skills learnt from the rough 'n tumble training of past months (12 hour Endurance Classic).

The pace was on from the start along Bobbin Hd Rd, Marea pushing her road bike to the front.  Caroline moved up to second showing her true racing pedigree, then it was helter skelter down to B.H. bridge, Suicide true to form taking chequered flag with the lead changing between Whippet several times, while Temperate lay in wait for the climb. Caroline, the consummate professional not wanting a repeat of the nasty bingle of previous week was content to let the F1Alain go by.

Temperate’s long power thrusts set a cracker pace in the climb to Kalkari to check in at just under 30 min. Whippet also broke the half hour closely followed by our Brown Blonde. The climb from Brooklyn Rd to Pie in the Sky for real pies, and the sent of the native bushland in full bloom amongst the new growth of the introduced pine trees on this beautiful spring day, evidenced a smiling, beaming Suicide slip into second behind Temperate.  While recovering from this hard slog we learnt that Stephen had proposed to Marea on the top of Mt Kinabalu in Borneo.  Marea was not out of breath and said yes; congratulations to both of 'em.  We learned that the ring would be a chainring attached to a new bike.  Bruce and Bazza bid us farewell. refueled F1Alain was off in pursuit of another hill.

The climb from Pristine Berowra Waters again found Temperate at the Top.

Green Shades was the scene of lots of celebrations, cheers all round and many toasts in iced water.  Heaven forbid, we overstayed our time, but alas Spreadsheet Johnston who would be returning next ride, would likely bring his timesheets with him, in case we had too much fun.   It was full speed down the Gorge; Whippet was no match for mass, Eric showing the way to the bridge before another climb with Temperate taking out the Yellow Jersey for all hills.

Rookie Terry came in well-placed wondering what motivated this odd cycle group, Whippet explained he was last in. Both rode back to Eastwood content that the elements had been kind to us.

Sunday, 30 Sept, Mt White, Peats Ridge Somersby Bellbirds - 125km from Hornsby or 97km from Cowan
