Getting around

Corey has a key to my main side door at Ground Level which is at the top of timber staircase.

Side entrance door to my Ground Level at top of timber staircase  - below the ground level of my home is my Basement/Laundry

Three keys on a key ring on my bed on the Ground Floor:

1.    Key to above-mentioned Side entrance door to my Ground Floor which is the main way to enter the Ground Floor.  When inside the Ground Floor level, best to enter the upstairs though the Internal Staircase, although there is a separate external door to the First Floor level.

2.   Key to Basement/laundry door which accesses the Washing Machine and two internal basement doors where some of your plastic boxes are inside the rear basement door.  Others plastic boxes are in my bedroom.

3.   Key to Side garage white timber door located at bottom of external concrete stairs and electronic garage door button inside garage.

There is a stove on each of Ground Floor and First Floor - below power switch has to be turned ON.  It will be ON when I leave for Italy, so leave it turned ON

Taking a shower on either level

The hot water system is an instant Rinnai hot water system located outside the laundry/basement, not a tank that heats up overnight.

This means that when you turn on the hot water, it kick-starts an instant gas heater outside the laundry, which warms water and shots it off to the turned on tap, but it still takes about 80 seconds to arrive.

If the hot water doesn’t get hot after 80 seconds after turning the hot water on strong, then you need to visit the Basement/laundry and turn on the hot water by pushing the ‘ON’ keypad at RHS of washing machine -as shown in Basement/laundry.

NB:  The keypad switch went ‘OFF’ once about 5 months ago, possibly due to a power surge or temporary blackout.  So I doubt that you will experience no Hot water after 75 seconds.  It is a no-brainer to turn it back ‘ON’ and ‘set the heat temp’.   The shower on Ground Level should warm up about 20 seconds faster than the shower on First Floor as it is closer to the external Rinnai outside the Basement/laundry.

Because of the 80 seconds delay in hot water arriving at tap, when washing dishes or washing your hands, best to use the cold tap.  So aim the tap to the right.  You will see red on left and Green on Right.  Then lift tap in sink for water to flow.  There is a blue plastic tub just to the RHS of the very large kitchen sink down stairs.  Best to boil water in kettle to wash dishes rather than turn on hot tap as the instant hot water is a long way to travel to sink.  So only time to use hot water tap is for a shower.

Turning on main roof lights for Ground Floor

Internal Staircase
After dark, always turn on light just near the entrance to top of internal staircase or the light switch at the 2nd steep at bottom of staircase.
Always hold the staircase hand rail with one hand.

Two external garden hoses

There are two external garden hoses to water the planter boxes.  Best to use the kettle or large saucepan to water the pot plants on the lower balcony.

The main hose at the lower southern side of home has a hand gun to activate the spray with your hand.  Make sure that you always turn the cold water off at the tap after you finish watering the planter boxes and gardens, as those trigger guns or the hose fittings can fail rapidly causing a flood.
The shorter hose at the beach NE end of the home doesn't have a trigger gun, so you have to turn it off at the tap to stop the water coming out.
