Weekend, 14/15 April:

Saturday from 10:30am NSW Hill Climbing Championships up Mt Panorama Bathurst.  Following the Hill Climb we watch an exciting 20km Kermise Race over a 1.5km Sulman Park course on the top of Mt Panorama.  We can see the riders every few minutes whilst they ride 15 laps.

Sunday Blayney to Bathurst 110km Long Course or 70km Short Course Cyclo Sportif Challenge:
*        Drive
201km from Sydney by 7:30am Saturday to arrive Bathurst by 10am,

*        10:30am experience cycle racing in a safe up-hill environment in NSW Hill Climbing Championships climbing 4.02km up Mt Panorama in Masters Event on a closed road that runs adjacent to Mountain Straight - $25 entry fee with prize money
NB:    Muggaccinos 1st Commandment is "Hills are your friends and mountains are your mates!!!"  
          Let's compete against the best, and win a buck if good enough.

*        40km Muggaccinos Tour de Bathurst district from 9am Sunday morning in time to watch finish of below two Blayney to Bathurst rides; or

*        get a taste of road racing by entering Blayney to Bathurst Cyclo Sportif:

         +         70km Race in the Master division for $50; or
        
++       110km Race in the Masters division for $50  

 

NB:    Hugh Fyson and his trusty treadley are looking for a lift to/from Bathurst and will contribute his share for gasoline ie. 50% if 2 in car or 33% if 3.

Neither the NSW Hillclimb Championship nor the Hillclimb Challenge offers prize money:

 

(A)      State title medals are awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd place getters in the NSW Hillclimb Championship.

 

(B)      Every competitor in the Hillclimb Challenge will receive a medallion and completion certificate.

Saturday 14th April
 

NSW Hill Climb Championships up Mount Panorama - 10:30am Start - Entry $25.  Timed mass start commencing in Harris Park opposite the “The Pits” at Mount Panorama - follows little known western entrance to the top of Mount Panorama in Sulman/Reid Park. 

Both below Route Map and Elevation Profile Graph on RHS indicate elevation is 175m.  Below Route Map lists Climb is 4.2km being 4.15% gradient, rendering this Climb less steep than to Pie in the Sky which is 4.9%.

The Red worm above on LHS shows the 4.2km route for the NSW Hillclimb Challenge open to cyclists who don't hold a racing licence.

The Black worm above on RHS shows the 4.02km route for the NSW Hillclimb Championship for cyclists who hold a racing licence.

Sunday 15 April

 

The Blayney to Bathurst 110km Long Course or 70km Short Course rides (hereinafter referred to as B2B) Cyclo Sportif Challenge - open to both Cycling NSW members and non members - promoted by Rotary Club of Bathurst Daybreak and Bathurst Cycling Club.

 

The Long and Short Course Routes, which start at Carrington Park, Church Street, Blayney at 8:30am and 10am respectively, are on quiet rural roads with some testing climbs, including “Rockley Mountain” on the long course B2B.

 

Both routes finish at the top of Mount Panorama where the final 300 metres to the top is a Ball Terror.

 

Cyclists catch a bus to the Blayney Start - $15 - from the Bus Terminal, Cnr William and Howick Sts Bathurst, to the Start at Carrington Park Blayney - your bikes are packed into a support removalist trucks.
