Mittagong wrap-up - Nov 2019

Mittagong Caravan Park is large - 1 Old Hume Highway, Mittagong - (02) 4871 1574

*      900m Nth of the Mittagong 'town centre', the gateway to the Southern Highlands - amongst natural bushland and wildlife;

*      Mittagong 50m council swimming pool;

*      well located to explore materially less steep backroad routes to/from the Highlands towns of Bowral, Moss Vale, Berrima and Bundanoon, and down the slope to Robertson and Kangaloon;

*      provides a lot of very well presented cabins, with all the mod cons incl TV and Wi-Fi and new linen;

*      sufficient green-space for up to a dozen tents, if positioned relatively close together - tent site for two seniors is $31 p/n, a 3rd Senior adds $12;

*      lots of space for powered sites for caravans, slightly dearer @ $34 per couple p/n.

*      very good communal facilities, especially for bar-b-q's

*      smallest 'studio' cabin (BERRIMA CABIN) has one double bed and all the Mod Cons - see below cost if you stay the full Tues night to Sat night

*      The ALEXANDER CABIN has a double bed and twin bunks, which is the best available cabin for two chaps wanting to share a cabin.  A third adult could either sleep in the top bunk, or on their tent mat on the floor, if the top bunk looks a tad risky to get to, to further defray the accommodation cost - see below cost if you stay Tues night to Sat night

*      Please email BankTeller your likely attendance dates, contingent upon fine weather, and whether you will be camping or cabin-ing.

*      Indicative Attendance Schedule lists names in GREEN BACKGROUND that have confirmed attending this Nov., subject to fine weather and no 11th hour catastrophe.

*      At the bottom of this invitation is the Wednesday 'long ride' prepared by Richard aka Sloth, after Bill aka Glasgow laid the foundation a few months' ago. Cycling that 81.1km circular anti C/W route later in the week is another 'long ride' option.

There will likely be a 'long ride' (50km to 85km) and a 'short ride' (35km to 50km) each day.  One some days, cyclists wanting the 'short ride' will commence the 'long ride' and take a short-cut.  It is up to those wanting to cycle the 'long ride' to agree the following morning's 'long ride' route the day before.  Likewise, the wusses like BankTeller should agree the following morning's 'short ride' the day before.  BankTeller will then list those agreed rides in the table at the bottom of this page.
