This late Oct, Richard aka Sloth, Tony aka Publican and Terry aka Navigator are joining the burgeoning caravan south to again ride the below 205km Around the Bay in a Day (Port Phillip) on Sun, 19 Oct 2014 which perhaps attracts the largest (in Oz) single day rider participation, than any other annual ride.  Certainly it would win in a canter in aggregate number of clicks clocked.

Entry fee isn't cheap, because it includes -
*      commemorative jersey;
*      ferry ride between Queenscliff and Sorrento; and
*      lunch.

Bank Teller rode it in 1996.

Alas, don't recommend that you do what most participants do, namely -

  • fly in Friday arvo;

  • walk around Melb. on Sat;

  • ride 210km Sunday, and

  • fly out Monday, or even Sunday night.

Rather 'cause Melbourne is a beaut city, I recommend that you stack-in at least a 4 night stop-over, to see some of what Melb. has to offer:
